Snow and the human psyche

Snow does funny things to people.  TLH and I were discussing how different people are when there's snow on the ground and I thought it would be an interesting idea for a post.  Then today I read this wonderful post by Fennie about the effect of snow on the human psyche and figured she'd already written my post for me and I'm just too lazy to try and do it myself when she's encapsulated everything I was going to say!  So go over there and read that, then pretend you read it over here and marvel at my insight.

I wonder if I've just stumbled on a post-modern method of blogging - decide on a subject then go and find someone else who's already written about it, and just link to that one....  Would save a lot of bother, wouldn't it?

But, here, have some pictures instead, taken over the last couple of days:

It's a picture-takers paradise out there - photo-opps at every turn. But how do I capture the magic of twinkling snow in sunlight - love those little diamonds.

I've read Fennie's post too - couldn't put it better. I think you may be on to something.

Mountainear - photographer's paradise? Hell, yeah! I'm going to miss it when it melts.

Absolutely stunning photos. Fennie is always on my reading list so I will hop over there for a look. I agree with you that snow changes things but am too lazy to think it out for myself now that I know Fennie has been on the job.

i am admiring the bravery of your cat.

ours cat is completely OVER the cold and snow and has spent the last few days sulking near a radiator.

the snow is beginning to melt here in london but more is forecast next week.

Nice photos, and I can see you are enjoying camerabag! I love the ones of the cat & the robin. Your robin looks different from our robins, the red is more brilliant.

We have had the same snow on the ground for a month now. I'm sick of it. I sure hope it melts soon. Then we can get some fresh white stuff!

Elizabethm - perhaps we ought to just nick all Fennie's blogs and pass them off as our own...? Would save a lot of time...

SAS - welcome! That particular cat, Pepper, is quite intrepid and she's been pinging about like a maniac in the snow. My boy cat, Sylvester, can barely be persuaded to go outside to pee. It's been melting a bit here too.

Peevish - Camerabag's fab! I've been going through all my old photos and fiddling with them. British robins are different to American ones but this picture has been colourcrossed so the red's been somewhat exaggerated. This weather is just extraordinary, isn't it? It seems to have hit the whole of the northern hemisphere really badly. It makes a nice change but every year might get a bit trying...

I am so impressed with Pepper, Mabel's only been out once since I came home on Sunday! Bart says she only went out a couple of times while I was away. The photo's are beautiful.
