The operation seems to have gone well. I have just been to visit and, while uncomfortable, the patient is not in any pain. I honestly cannot convey how relieved I am.
Anyway, I now have 2-3 days to kick around Budapest on my own, interspersed with visits to the clinic. Quite where I'll go I don't know. The weather has taken a turn for the worse - the temperature has plummeted, there's a very strong icy wind blowing off the Danube and it's still raining so I may just stay tucked indoors if it stays like this with my livid green crochet and The Godfather trilogy.
